Swing and a Miss, Volume II

Today is our last Sunday in Bozeman before heading to Utah for the holidays so I wanted to take Henry and Ruby's picture in front of our tree in their Christmas clothes. We had just gotten home from church and the timing (I thought) was perfect. I had this adorable vision in my head: Henry and Ruby, side-by-side (maybe holding hands), smiling beautifully for the camera (that would, for once, actually focus like I wanted it to), with the Christmas tree lights twinkling lightly in the background. Heck, maybe if I was lucky I could prop the camera up and take one of all four of us.

Well, Ruby wasn't having it. Here's the first attempt:

I didn't like where this was going. (Earth to Henry!)

After a few more shots, I finally get an okay picture of Scott and the kiddies:

But apparently I was just pushing it WAY too far when I tried to get one with Ruby. Where's your Christmas spirit Ruby? Geesh!

I know. The bad news is that's right about when Ruby takes her first nap. This could get ugly.

The bad news is Saturday will be worse! Remember the picture we tried to take of all of the kids....whoa! And Noah has that same sweater.

Great job even getting them in a picture. My kids are too occupied with the camera and want to be taking the pictures instead of being in them. I have tons of pictures of just lego men and teddy bears.

Everyone say a little prayer before this Saturday. Frick, if ya'll could get your kids under control for a decent picture! You'll notice that Becca and I don't have that problem at all. What's the deal with you people anyway? Lameostasis. Aka: constant lameness. Ever heard of it. Yeah, didn't think so.

You should have put on "Last Christmas" for Ruby. That would have gotten her in the mood.

It would have worked for me, anyway.

I'm a little nervous about this Saturday. I think Henry will be OK if Santa doesn't show up and if we don't let Kate take him to the bathroom but Ruby...Maybe she would be in a better mood if we took her at 9:00 for hair and makeup! There's always photoshop!

but cels, haven't you learned by now that those kind of pictures are classic memories as well?

Okay, who am i kidding...that is just what we have started telling ourselves to feel better about having the bratty, sad kid who won't take a "D" photo!!

But cute xmas outfits...too bad we can't get a pic of little Rubadoo and Kate in their matching dresses!

That is so frustrating. The outfits are so cute that you have to try again another day. P.S. Henry's vest is to die for!

you guys look so cute - did you know I don't have any christmas clothes for my kids this year - I am such a bad mom. I know!

Hey, look how matching you all are. That takes planning I'll tell you. I don't have time for that cause I am busy planning recipe parties that never actually happen because everyone's kids are sick!;) I came by to bring you a gift before you left Bozeman, but missed you. Call when you are back in town so we can plan another get-together where one of us will be missing because their kids are sick. Tis the season! Gotta love it! Right?
