I looked out my front window this morning to see this:
Okay, so that's not exactly the quaint little view from my front window (it's actually the Norsey Wood in the UK but pretty, right?) and we didn't exactly get that much snow (but it would be cool, right?).
But it's snowing! Has been snowing lightly all day!
Usually I'm not a big fan of snow coming so early but I am this year because that means the seasons are changing and changing seasons means the bun in the oven is one season closer to being born! Wahoo! But seriously, if I had to live through one more Indian Summer day of beautiful temps in the 70s I was going to kill myself.
There's something about the first snowfall that makes me want to do crazy things. And Henry too, apparently. After staring at it out the window, he turned to me and said, "Mama, we need to put away this Halloween stuff and get out our Christmas decorations."
I think he's onto something.
Just don't tell Scott, he's weird about putting up Christmas decorations in early October. Sometimes I just don't get him.

I was trying to figure out what view that was out your window! Sure is pretty! The best thing about this weather is having new soup recipes to try. Thanks! Well, and I got to pull the frost-bitten ugly flowers out of my containers on my front porch. Seriously, I was getting tired of watering them, so I just quite and then they turned ugly.
Celia,
This post is music to my 'meaty earlobed' ears. At first I was a little bummed about the cold. But after I saw the snow, I started hearing little sleigh bells in my head. It made me start to dance around and sing! Christmas Carols of course. I love Christmas, you know. After I read what Henry said, it made my heart skip a beat. I've trained him so well.
Love an anxious girl counting down the days til Halloween is over so she can play Christmas music,
Kate
Ahh snow...it's just a faint memory for me these days but I'm all about bringing on the cold weather.
If I have to look at my pregnant legs in shorts for one more day, I might just pinch my "knee fat" and start crying. And the worst part is is that they were at least tan in the summer, but now are just pasty white again.
So for no other reason than that, bring on the jeans and sweaters!
Nice view from your window. You went from fall to winter in just one post. You must live in Bozeman. How are you doing these days? Tell everyone I said hi!
This weather is killing me. Now I'm forced to unpack more boxes and find those darn winter clothes. I'm still looking forward to enjoying these next few "warm" days.
Snow? I can't believe you would rather have snow than beautiful temps in the 70s. I'm trying to tell myself over and over that the bitter winter is not coming, that I won't be stuck inside for the next 5 months.
But I think you're on to something with the Christmas decorations. I'll do it if you do it.
Gorgeous! I miss the snow...
Maybe I'll have to come visit and get it out of my system.
Hey, I tagged you (ha ha!) Go check my blog.
Oh yeah, and I'm crazy jealous of your recipe blogs... (sniff) I think I might have to start one.
