Rollin' With My Homies

I hung out with a group of 12 girls through most of my high school career and we were C-R-A-Z-Y (right Mom? Although she probably shouldn't be the one to judge because I'd bet that if she were Mother Theresa's mom, she still probably would have found some reason to ground her. Like how about when Mother Theresa blew up a tv up the canyon and then lied about it or when she got caught BIG TIME sluffing Honors English three times in a row? Geez MT, those probably weren't the smartest things to do so maybe you deserve the grounding afterall). So anyway, a couple of weeks ago in Utah I got the RARE chance to hang out with six of those friends (some of whom I hadn't seen in YEARS!) and their kids.

Speaking of "that group," our group of friends was called The Freaks. Nice name, huh? Pretty sad that we actually embraced the name even though it was given to us as a gesture of insult. All I can say is we had a pretty good amount of self-esteem.

So we went to Harmony's new BEAUTIFUL house in Alpine and had a BBQ. The food was great (which I take no responsibility for at all since my assignment was a bag of chips and I failed to even work that out in the end -- hey! I'm a travellin' (wo)man!) and the company was even better!

Here's Henry getting to know Mandy and Tyler's darling little Olivia. I don't mean to brag but I think the boy's got skillz:
Skills? I should say! Look who we found a few hours later trying to elope in a Radio Flyer! Like I told Mandy, let the record show that I wholeheartedly support betrothing these two. How cute would their kids be?!?!

So here's the crew:
Me, Harmony, Nicole, Mandy (Parker), Mandy (Ivie), Jane, and Aime.

Between the seven of us, there were 14 kids so it was awesome. It was so much fun to see my friends as real, "grownup" women! I'm sorry that not everyone was there but we need to plan a reunion soon!

Thanks again ladies for a hilarious night!

The Freaks?! Are you serious? That is SO funny. High school stories are the best. I can't believe the stunts you (and I) pulled off. Look out, I heard your going to be featured on the newest edition of Mormons gone Mild.

What a fun night we had. It was so good to see you. You haven't changed a bit.
I almost forgot all about the TV/canyon night. Wow did we {mabe just me} get a bad rep for that. I don't think we ment for it to be a make out party! hehe.

We maybe had just a little too much fun now and again. You're not kiddin' about the self esteem part. I'm hoping to rub that off on my girls a bit. They say that is the biggest deterrent for teen sex (I'm not even making that up:) Having 3 girls kind of freaks me out a bit sometimes. I feel like I was a pretty good kid and all but I would die if my kids do half the stuff I did. Yikes!

You all don't look freakish! I love it that Hen is in the picture with all the ladies.

Blowing up TV's in the canyon? I thought you told me your life story, boy was I wrong! Better go on another cruise so I can hear about that.

How much fun did we have in school?? A lot-although I think you were being a little harsh on yourself about sluffing only 3 times in a row. You were probably the best out of all of us at not ditching class. If I went to 3 classes in a row I thought it was a rough day and thought that I deserved a break. Were you one of the gals that sluffed the first day of school with us? I think we were in Shannon's sidekick and went up in the mountains in Alpine. Well, I think of all the best days to ditch, the first day is best. What happens on the first day isn't that important anyway is it? :) Our kids really are cute together aren't they? I'm just a little concerned that Henry is already trying to sneak her away from the party in his wagon. What happens when he gets his first set of wheels? We won't be able to catch them quite as easily then!!!

I heard that all the freaks really had a crush on a guy named Nate Sampson. Is that true?

You know what I don't even remember this so called tv blowing up incident. I think we should focus on our more postive moments like helping a fellow classmate advertise for his yardsale or helping to keep everyone's pwerbill low by turning their power off for them. You know we really only thought of how we could help others!:) Ok I guess we were a little wild! Anyways look how good we turned out! You are all awesome moms with very cute kids! I can't wait to get together again!
PS. Who's Nate Sampson?
